The Los Angeles Dodgers squandered an early lead but were rescued in extra innings by Shohei Ohtani delivering his first walk-off hit for the team in the 10th. The Dodgers’ 3-2 victory against the Cincinnati Reds on Sunday afternoon clinched the series.

Before Ohtani’s heroics, Andy Pages provided the Dodgers with a lead by slugging a two-run home run off Hunter Greene in the fourth inning.

It was one of the few blemishes for Greene, who finished with eight strikeouts and the two runs allowed over 6.1 innings. The start was only Greene’s second of his career at Dodger Stadium, and the Los Angeles native has been on the losing side both times.

Meanwhile, Landon Knack was recalled for a spot start and he pitched well into the fifth inning. Knack kept the Reds off the board until giving up back-to-back doubles in the fifth inning.

Knack struck out Luke Mahle but was removed before being allowed to face the top of the Reds lineup for a third time on the day. Ryan Yabrough finished the fifth inning and was on the mound in the seventh when his throwing error on a bunt single put the Dodgers in a jam.

Alex Vesia replaced Yarbrough with the bases loaded and promptly walked in the tying run.

The game remained knotted up until the bottom of the 10th. Ohtani’s RBI single into right field was just his second career walk-off hit and first with the Dodgers.

Next for Dodgers

The Dodgers continue their homestand Monday with the start of a three-game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The Dodgers won two of three at Chase Field at the end of April and into May.
