Stephen A. Smith Transforms Himself Into a Meme After New York Knicks’ Game 7 Heartbreak
Tori Lynn Schneider / USA TODAY NETWORK

The New York Knicks’ recent Game 7 loss against the Indiana Pacers definitely broke a lot of hearts across the world, especially after All-Star guard Jalen Brunson‘s impressive run this season. As a result, NBA analyst Stephen A. Smith expressed his pain in a post that will most likely get feasted on by the internet.

Just recently, the series between New York and Indiana was decided in a lopsided Game 7 loss for the former. Tyrese Haliburton came out with guns blazing in the Pacers’ 130-109 win when he dropped 26 points, four rebounds, and six assists. Andrew Nembhard and Pascal Siakam each had 20 points, while Aaron Nesmith contributed 19 points as part of the starting unit.

For his part, Brunson made 17 points and nine assists before exiting the game in the third quarter due to a fracture in his left hand. Donte DiVincenzo tallied 39 points on 60 percent shooting from deep to lead the Knicks in this game. Alec Burks added 26 points from the bench as New York’s run this season comes to an end.

The win pushed Indiana back to the Conference Finals since Paul George led them there in 2014. Meanwhile, the Knicks head into the offseason with various injuries to their core players and a lot of questions to answer for next season.

Stephen A. Smith Becomes a Meme After Heartbreaking New York Knicks Game 7 Loss

After the game, various personalities gave their take on the Knicks’ loss and elimination from contention, such as Paul Pierce’s disrespectful gesture. Among those was New York fan Stephen A. Smith in an image he recently posted on X:

Smith has always worn his love for the Knicks on the sleeve throughout his career covering the NBA. This season, though, was a special one as the Jalen Brunson-led team showed an exceptional amount of heart and grit in exceeding everyone’s expectations by making a meaningful postseason run.

Although the Knicks’ season is over, their performance this year has shown a lot of promise for the future. If things go well in the next playoffs, Smith won’t have a reason to turn himself into a meme anymore.
