Can't 'Bear'ly Wait: Bears Primed to Kick Off Offseason Program This Week

Over the weekend, Chicago Bears rookie Caleb Williams rubbed elbows with the greatest quarterback of all time when Tom Brady met with a handful of incoming rookies. Brady reinforced the importance of prioritizing the team over themselves and concluded the meeting with a particularly resonant bit of knowledge:

"There was a difference between being a star and being a champion," Brady says in the video. "There should be nobody in your life that should have higher expectations for you than you."

Williams will undoubtedly look to bring that mentality to the Bears this week as the team begins its offseason program. Beginning Monday, the Bears will have team meetings to start the week before practice this upcoming Thursday.

For the Bears, a team that hasn't made the postseason since 2018 nor won a playoff game since 2011, the start of offseason activities breathes new hope into a franchise that's 10-21 under general manager Ryan Poles and head coach Matt Eberflus. With the addition of Williams and wide receiver standout Rome Odunze to an offense that already has the likes of DJ Moore, Cole Kmet, Keenan Allen, and DeAndre Swift, the Bears boast a roster that many have pegged to make noise this upcoming season.

The Bears' OTAs take place from May 20-21, May 23, May 28-29, and May 31.
