Never would Drew Bledsoe, in the wildest of his dreams, have thought that Tom Brady would be the reason for his resurgence across America.

The seventh-round draft pick who went on to take Bledsoe’s job as the starting quarterback for the New England Patriots in 2001 gave the former NFL QB a chance to take all of his pent-up frustration out at him via the "The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady," which was hosted by Kevin Hart, produced by Netflix and a hit among the fans.

For Drew Bledsoe, the night was unforgettable as he got the complete VIP treatment, an opportunity to publicly mock Tom Brady, and receive financially compensated for it as well.

In a recent appearance on :Kaplan and Crew," Bledsoe revealed that a member of Brady’s management team reached out to him about being one of the individuals roasting the seven-time Super Bowl champion. Initially, Bledsoe was reluctant to do so as he had other business commitments, but he found it hard to say no when Brady’s rep offered to fly him private.

"Okay, I can be pretty flexible with somebody else's private airplane!" Bledsoe joked.

In addition to this, he revealed that all the celebrities who roasted Brady got a share of the total earnings of the night.

"Yeah, we got paid a little bit. I know that it was probably a freaking fraction of what like Tom and Kevin made. But they threw a little cheddar our way," Bledsoe added.

Not bad at all! He opted to keep the exact amount under wraps. Considering the net worth of the people who roasted him, it is likely that they expected to take part in the event just to have fun and not for any monetary returns.

Drew Bledsoe roasted Tom Brady over taking his job and made plenty of references to his divorce

The former NFL QB left no stone unturned as he went at Brady from different angles. He called him out for succeeding with a Patriots team that he was responsible for building and mocked him over his failed marriage to Gisele Bündchen.

He was man enough to take the hits later on that night as Bill Belichick turned back the clock and made a reference to him being benched for Brady yet again by saying, “It’s not your night. Sorry, Drew.”

Despite the back-and-forth on the roast, Bledsoe shares a good relationship with Brady.

The quarterback’s career in the NFL ended in 2007. The first pick of the 1993 draft spent his first nine years as a New England Patriot and then was traded to the Buffalo Bills, where he played for three years, before spending the last two years of his career with the Dallas Cowboys. He threw for 44,611 yards and had 251 touchdowns in his career.

While he has gained notoriety for being the man who was run out of his job by Tom Brady, Bledsoe has achieved immense success as an entrepreneur over the years. He started a vineyard business that has done well and boosted his net worth to $35 million.

He is enjoying himself in retirement and reminded everyone at Tom Brady’s roast that he is not a man bitter about the past, but he is one who has moved on and is now focused on enjoying his life.
